Client Journeys - Liz Ryan-Smith

I started PT as part of a management strategy for my long term health problems of endometriosis and chronic fatigue.

On bad days, walking for 10 minutes would wipe me out for the rest of the day and I couldn’t keep up with ‘normal’ life, like running a dishwasher or keeping the house tidy.

I had always been relatively active, enjoying hiking, yoga and cheerleading, but this all became impossible.

I made Alan aware of the limitations of my condition from the beginning and he was sensitive and respectful. After assessing my fitness level, we decided to work on building strength.

It has not been a straight forward journey, as I am often ill and contracted a bad case of Covid in February, which put me back a long way, but PT has been incredibly helpful. I am now stronger than I have ever been and as a result, can bounce back from health flare-ups so much faster, as well as enjoying activities that previously would have been too hard (e.g. backpacking).

I know it’s cliché to say, but PT has honestly changed my life. It’s mad to think how far I’ve come and how much better my quality of life is after doing PT for just over a year!
