Client Journey: Jo Grundonner

Back in July 2020 during lockdown I had spent 3 months indoors and was the heaviest I have ever been.

I had seen Alan doing a lot of good work during that time keeping people motivated and providing free online classes so decided to get in touch to start making a positive change. Family history, hitting 50 and menopause were all a big driver in making the change too.

I made Alan aware of my underlying illness and limitations which he then tailored workouts around. He set me daily/weekly targets to keep me motivated and I also took up Park Fit on a Saturday morning. He set me a target to walk every day and as soon as that became easier, he encouraged me to start running. I won't lie, it’s been hard work but with his help I got fit and lost 2.5 stone in the process.

In June 2021 I started running (something I never thought I would be able to do) and completed a 10k in November of the same year. With the unwavering support of Alan and Tracey Yeates (Alan’s partner and running enthusiast) I ran my first half marathon in April 2023 in 2 hours 50 mins which I am very proud of!

PT has changed me for the better, I am much more active, fitter, happier and stronger. I have gone from not being able to do a plank for more than 10 seconds to achieving over 3 minutes, deadlifts from picking just the bar up to a PB of 90kg, the list can go on!

It’s improved my mental health too, I feel much more happier, positive and in control of my stress when I have trained, whether it be PT, running or Park fit.

I cannot thank Alan enough!
